Bolt-on chainrings form the traditional and most widely used front chainring setup for mountain, road, and gravel bikes. They are most commonly attached to the crankset using a bolt pattern with a specific BCD (e.g., 94, 96, 104, or 110 mm), making them modular, easy to replace, and compatible with most drivetrains. Bolt-on chainrings cover a wide range of solutions, from individual narrow or oval chainrings to options offered by aftermarket manufacturers. A good bolt-on front chainring improves chain life, reduces lateral vibration, and optimizes power transfer. Our selection includes both classic 4-bolt chainring models and more advanced BCD solutions designed by aftermarket manufacturers such as Wolf Tooth or Race Face.
