Wolf Tooth 110 BCD Asymmetric 4-Bolt GRX Chainring
The Wolf Tooth 110 BCD Asymmetric 4-Bolt is a high-quality narrow-wide chainring for Shimano GRX 600 and 800 series cranksets. The chainring is designed for 1x drivetrains and is available with Drop-Stop B and Drop-Stop ST tooth profiles designed for different chain types. Size options are 36T, 38T, 40T, 42T, and 44T.
The Wolf Tooth 110 BCD Asymmetric 4-Bolt chainring is designed for gravel, cyclocross, and road bikes equipped with Shimano GRX cranksets. The asymmetric four-bolt mounting fits GRX 600 and GRX 800 series cranks, and the 50 mm chainline matches the chainline of original Shimano GRX chainrings.
Wolf Tooth's patented Drop-Stop narrow-wide tooth profile helps keep the chain securely on the chainring even on uneven terrain. Alternating wide and narrow teeth guide the chain, reduce lateral movement, and improve chain retention without a front derailleur. The open design of the tooth profile helps remove mud and dirt from the drivetrain.
The product is available with two different tooth profiles. The appropriate version is selected based on the chain being used, not solely on the number of gears.
Drop-Stop B is suitable for most 9-, 10-, and 11-speed chains, as well as selected 12- and 13-speed chains. It is suitable for SRAM Eagle, SRAM Road Flattop, and SRAM Transmission T-Type Flattop chains, among others. Drop-Stop B is not compatible with Shimano HG+ 12-speed or KMC 12-speed chains.
Drop-Stop ST is designed specifically for Shimano Hyperglide+ 12-speed chains. ST stands for Symmetric Trapezoidal, and the shape of the tooth profile matches the design of the extended inner plates of the Shimano HG+ chain. Drop-Stop ST is also suitable for KMC 12-speed chains, but not for other chain types.
The chainring is CNC-machined from tough and durable 7075-T6 aluminum at Wolf Tooth's own factory in Minnesota. The 36T–44T sizes are traditional open and lightweight chainrings without an aerodynamic solid design.
The smaller 36T and 38T options provide lighter gearing for steep climbs, technical gravel routes, and loaded touring. The 40T and 42T sizes offer balanced gearing for varied gravel and cyclocross riding. The larger 44T is suitable for faster riding, flat routes, and riders who need more gearing for high speeds.
The chainring is intended solely for 1x drivetrains. It cannot be used as a functional part of a 2x drivetrain. For extremely muddy conditions, Wolf Tooth recommends a chain guide or chain catcher in addition to a derailleur equipped with a clutch.
