Wolf Tooth CAMO Direct Mount Spider for SRAM
Prices include VAT.
The CAMO chainring system was developed by Wolf Tooth engineers to optimize chainline and material use in direct-mount chainrings. Its key advantages include: - Precise chainline for improved wear and shifting - Optimal material use for weight, stiffness, and durability - Lower replacement costs: buy only the chainring, unlike designs with an integrated spider - Fast chainring swaps with just five small bolts and no nuts - A wide selection of direct-mount options from Wolf Tooth: round or oval, stainless steel or aluminum, and compatible with several cranksets - Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth profile for excellent chain retention and mud shedding

Description
NOTE
This is a CAMO Spider ONLY. A CAMO Chainring is required to complete this system.
This is a spider for use with SRAM cranksets that have a removable spider
The CAMO chainring system was created by Wolf Tooth engineers for Chainline And Material Optimization on direct mount-style chainrings. The key advantages include:
-
Perfect chainline for wear and shifting precision
-
Optimal material usage for weight, stiffness, and wear
-
Spend less when swapping chainrings by buying only the chainring, compared to chainrings with an integrated spider
-
Chainring swaps are very fast, requiring only five small bolts and no nuts
-
Availability, as Wolf Tooth offers many direct-mount options: round or oval, stainless steel or aluminum, for several cranksets.
-
Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth profile for ultimate chain retention and mud-shedding ability
Compatibility
- This spider is designed for SRAM cranksets with a removable spider. It also fits Cane Creek eeWing cranksets.
- Four different chainline options are available. The number and letter refer to the offset in mm and direction from the mounting face to the centerline of the teeth:
- M8 (6mm offset - dished towards the frame)
- For use with GXP cranks and BB30 Long Spindle standard 49mm chainline.
- Praxis Works Road/CX cranks use this offset.
- See the image below for how to measure your spindle length if you have BB30.
- For bikes with 135mm QR, 142mm thru-axle, and some 148mm spacing. Details here on 148mm Boost spacing.
- M5 (3mm offset - Boost)
- Dished towards the frame) is for a 52mm chainline on Boost bikes.
- Praxis Works mountain bike cranks use this offset for DM-A chainrings.
- This link explaining 148mm Boost spacing will help you decide whether you need the M5 or M8.
- M2 (0mm offset)
- For a 49mm chainline on a BB30 short-spindle crankset.
- Praxis Works mountain bike cranks use this offset for DM-B chainrings.
- See the image below for how to measure your spindle length if you have BB30.
- P2 (plus 4mm offset - dished outwards away from the frame)
- For fat bikes with 190/197 rear spacing that use a 100mm spindle. This is now very common on production fat bikes to keep the Q-factor slimmer.
- Can be used to create a "Boost" chainline with a BB30 short-spindle crankset
- M8 (6mm offset - dished towards the frame)
- CAMO mounting bolts are included with each spider, but can also be purchased separately in a variety of colors
- Chainline - varies depending on which spider you choose. See compatibility above.
- If you plan to ride in very muddy conditions, we recommend using a chainguide or chainkeeper in addition to a clutch-type rear derailleur! Without these precautions, you may experience chain drops and/or chainsuck.
Installation notes:
- You can access all bolts without removing the spider
- Align the small dot on the ring with the dot on the spider. Don't worry, you cannot install the ring in the wrong rotational orientation.
- Make sure the bosses on the spider "plug in" to the chainring.
-
Torque bolts only to 4-5 Nm and use blue Loctite threadlocker
