Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar Ends support the outer edge of the hand during fast-paced enduro, downhill, and electric mountain biking. The ergonomic rubber end support allows for a lighter grip on the handlebars, helps reduce hand fatigue, and protects the pinky side from impacts. The end supports fit most carbon and aluminum bars with an inner diameter of at least 18 mm.
Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar Ends are a new type of ergonomic handlebar end support developed for fast-paced gravity, downhill, enduro, and electric mountain biking. This is not a traditional bar horn, but a rubber flange that supports the outer edge of the hand and is installed directly on the ends of the handlebars.
The solid outer edge allows the rider to lean the side of their hand against the end of the handlebar. This reduces the need to constantly squeeze the grip with full force and can help reduce forearm pump and palm fatigue on long and technical descents. At the same time, it provides a new support point for bike control, especially in fast corners, steep descents, and situations where the bike is pressed hard against the ground.
The shape of the Locked-In Bar Ends and the hardness of the rubber material were developed in collaboration with World Cup-level downhill riders and Joe Breeden. The ergonomic shape follows the outer edge of the hand and specifically supports the pinky side without requiring the rider to change their normal riding position.
The continuous forward end structure also acts as a guard for the hand and pinky against impacts with trees, branches, and other obstacles. The front edge is angled so that it tends to slide past an obstacle rather than catching on it.
The internal wedge locking and shaped anti-rotation joint securely lock the end support inside the handlebar. The lobed anti-rotation design prevents the end from twisting inside the bar during hard riding. The position can be adjusted to suit the rider's hand, brake lever, and riding position.
The end supports fit most carbon and aluminum handlebars with an inner diameter of at least 18 mm. The grips used must have open ends. Closed-end grips can in many cases be opened using the separately sold Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar End Installation Grip Punch tool.
Locked-In Bar Ends are particularly well suited for electric mountain bikes, where the bike's greater weight requires more force from the rider during direction changes and in technical terrain. The extra support point provided by the handlebar ends can make controlling a heavy bike easier on descents.
Compatible with most carbon and aluminum handlebars when the bar's inner diameter is at least 18 mm.
The grips must have open ends so that the handlebar ends can be installed inside the handlebars.
The end of a closed-end grip can be opened with a suitable cutter or the separately sold Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar End Installation Grip Punch tool.
The grip must be able to be moved slightly inward so that the end support fits on the end of the bar.
The Hope 35R Carbon is not compatible because the handlebar's inner diameter is too small.
Deity Speedway Carbon and Chromag BZA Carbon bars have internal steps. The end supports may fit if the handlebar has not been cut down.
Ergon GE1 Evo-style angled grips are not compatible with this product.
Grips that use an external lock-on locking ring are generally not recommended, especially if the locking ring forms a solid bar end.
The small edge in the plastic inner sleeve of Ergon GA2 and GDH grips may prevent the grip from being moved inward. The edge may need to be removed before installation.
