Rex Transformer Block – hot wax additive for new factory-greased chains

Rex Transformer Block Chainwax 40 g is a hot wax additive that makes the first waxing of a new bike chain significantly easier. The product is designed for use on a completely new, factory-greased chain together with Rex hot wax.

Traditionally, a new chain must be thoroughly cleaned with solvents before hot waxing because the factory protective grease prevents the wax from adhering to the inner parts of the chain. Transformer Block converts the factory grease into a wax-compatible form in the hot wax, allowing a new chain to be waxed without traditional solvent cleaning.

The package contains 4 Transformer Block pieces. One piece treats one new chain. The product is particularly suitable for riders or workshops that want to adopt hot waxing in a cleaner, faster way, without the labor-intensive degreasing process for a new chain.

Note: Transformer Block is not a standalone chain wax or a cleaning agent for used chains. It is an additive for hot wax and is intended only for new, factory-greased chains.

An easier way to start hot waxing a chain

Hot waxing is a highly effective way to keep a bike's drivetrain clean, quiet, and low-friction. The biggest hurdle is often the first treatment: removing the factory grease from a new chain is messy, time-consuming, and easily done incompletely.

Rex Transformer Block solves exactly this step. When a new chain, Rex hot wax, and one Transformer Block piece are heated in the wax pot according to the instructions, the additive changes the behavior of the factory grease. The factory grease no longer acts as an oily barrier between the chain and the wax, allowing the hot wax to penetrate the area of the chain rollers, pins, and inner plates.

In practice, this means that a new chain can be transferred directly from the box to the wax pot without a lengthy solvent wash. The result is a clean, waxed chain with fewer chemicals, less mess, and less preparation work.

Transformer Block works best with Rex's own hot wax system. It is designed specifically for use with Rex Black Diamond Hot Wax and the Rex Pro Wax Heater wax pot, but it can also be used in other wax pots, provided the temperature is maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions.
