The Fat Freddie W348 features 348 sharp carbide studs with aluminium bodies that bite effectively into ice and hard-packed snow. The large number of studs combined with a wide contact patch provides exceptional stability, particularly on steep climbs, technical descents, and angled winter trails. The deep and aggressive tread pattern supports the studs and helps the tyre float over soft snow and varied winter surfaces.

The Skinwall OLC construction and 65 TPI casing make the tyre comfortable and easy to control despite its wide size. The construction effectively absorbs bumps and improves grip at lower tyre pressures. The SNOW 58A compound is designed for cold conditions and retains its flexibility in freezing temperatures, improving both grip and ride comfort. The compound is also non-toxic, supporting more environmentally friendly winter riding. The tyre is manufactured in Finland at the Lieksa tyre factory for northern conditions.
