MUC-OFF Rain Shield Re-Proofer is a practical solution for maintaining the water repellency of rainwear, shell jackets, softshell clothing, and other technical textiles. Over time and with use, a garment's original DWR treatment can deteriorate, causing the fabric to absorb water and feel heavier. Rain Shield Re-Proofer helps restore the material's water-repellent performance without compromising the garment's breathability.

The sprayable formula makes treatment easy: the product is applied directly to a clean textile surface, after which it forms a protective water-repellent layer. After treatment, raindrops, wet mud, and dirt do not stick to the surface as easily, improving the garment's usability in wet and variable riding conditions. The product is well suited for mountain biking, gravel riding, commuting, and outdoor activities where technical clothing is constantly exposed to moisture and dirt.

The water-based and PFC-free formula is suitable for a variety of technical, waterproof, or water-repellent materials, including Gore-Tex®, Polartec®, Pertex®, and eVent® fabrics, as well as softshell, hardshell, and down-filled garments. Directions for use: MUC-OFF Rain Shield Re-Proofer 250 ml

Before treatment

First, clean the garment with a detergent suitable for technical clothing. Do not use regular household detergent, as it can damage the technical garment's DWR treatment and water repellency. Always follow the garment's own washing and care instructions.

Treatment

Shake the bottle well before use. Spray Rain Shield Re-Proofer evenly onto a clean and damp garment from a distance of approximately 10–15 cm until the surface to be treated is completely covered. Treat in a dry and well-ventilated area.

Wipe off any excess product with a clean cloth so that no drips or uneven treatment layer remain on the surface.

Drying and use

Hang the garment to dry in a well-ventilated area. Allow the treatment to dry and cure overnight before using the garment again in wet conditions. The best water-repellent protection forms within approximately 24 hours after treatment.

When should the treatment be reapplied?

Reapply the treatment when water no longer beads on the garment's surface but begins to soak into the fabric. Under normal use and washing, the DWR protection gradually wears off, so the treatment should be reapplied as needed approximately every 3 months, depending on use and washing frequency.
