Step 1 - Muc-Off Chain Wax Cleaner
Prepare the chain

Spray Chain Wax Cleaner onto the chain Apply the cleaner directly to the chain, cassette, chainrings, and jockey wheels. Also suitable for use with a chain cleaning tool or a pressure washer. Tip: A new chain contains factory grease – always remove it before applying wax for the first time. |

Let sit and rinse Let the cleaner act for a moment, then rinse well. Removes old grease, oils, and residual wax without leaving any residue that would weaken the adhesion of the new wax. |

Dry thoroughly Dry the chain and all drivetrain parts completely before applying the wax. Moisture prevents the wax from adhering. Wait at least 15-30 minutes or dry with a cloth before the next step. |

Shake the bottle thoroughly Shake well before every use - the wax settles at the bottom of the bottle. Thorough shaking ensures a consistent mixture. |

One drop per link Apply one drop to every link of the chain, starting at the quick-link. Complete two full rotations around the chain. The quick-link serves as a good starting and ending marker. |

Shift through gears slowly Turn the pedals slowly and shift through all cassette sprockets so that the wax spreads evenly onto the gears as well. |

Let dry for at least 12 hours Leave to dry for at least 12 hours before riding - in cool climates, preferably 24 hours. The wax forms a durable dry film on the chain. Do not ride until the wax has dried completely. |
Re-application and maintenance
When cared for properly, Dark Energy lasts up to 480 km before re-application.

Dry conditions When the chain starts to get noisier, wipe with a microfiber cloth and apply a new layer of wax. The chain does not necessarily need to be washed again. |
