The WTB Venture 650×47 SG2 is a versatile, fast-rolling gravel tire that performs excellently in Finland’s changing conditions. The Dual DNA rubber compound does not harden in the cold, so grip and rolling efficiency are maintained even in severe freezing temperatures. SG2 protection prevents punctures from road grit and sharp stones, while the lightweight 120 tpi casing makes the tire comfortable and responsive. The WTB Venture is one of the manufacturer’s most versatile and popular gravel tires, designed to perform on all surfaces without the need for seasonal tire changes. The Venture delivers reliable grip and excellent rolling efficiency on both dry and wet surfaces, and performs especially well on varied, unfamiliar routes where the terrain can change from asphalt to loose gravel and soft forest trails.

The raised, continuous ridges in the center of the tire provide a smooth ride and create sharp working edges that dig into the surface on climbs and through corners. Two separate rows of outer knobs ensure reliable lateral grip, even in deeper loose gravel and on the most technical sections. The outer knobs also extend partly onto the tire’s sidewall, providing extra protection against impacts and sharp stones at the roadside.

The Dual DNA rubber compound combines a harder center section for improved rolling efficiency and durability with a softer edge compound for better grip when leaning into corners and on loose surfaces. This makes the Venture exceptionally capable on both gravel and asphalt without compromising ride feel.

SG2 puncture protection is a key part of the tire’s construction: an ultra-thin nylon layer extends bead to bead, protecting both the tread and sidewalls from cuts, road grit, and impacts. SG2 also improves the casing’s airtightness and prevents tubeless sealant from seeping through the sidewalls. The 120 tpi construction makes the tire supple, comfortable, and able to conform well to the surface—especially in cold weather, when cheaper tires harden and lose grip.

For year-round gravel riding, the Venture is an excellent choice, but it is also an exceptionally good studless winter tire: the rubber compound does not harden, the knob shape and tread profile remain effective even in the cold, and tubeless installation allows low pressures that increase the contact patch and improve grip on snow and frozen gravel.

The Venture 650×47 is suited to riders who want one tire for all four seasons and ride routes where the terrain can be unpredictable.
