Stan’s NoTubes Rim Tape 33 mm is a rim tape designed for tubeless setups, creating an airtight seal over spoke holes and enabling a reliable tubeless construction. The non-porous material prevents air and moisture from entering the rim, and the smooth surface makes tire installation easier. The 33 mm width is suitable for wider MTB rims, especially for modern trail and enduro use.
Technically optimized tubeless rim tape
Stan’s NoTubes Rim Tape is one of the best-known tubeless tape solutions on the market, and its performance is based on a completely airtight, non-porous structure that seals spoke holes and creates a reliable sealing surface between the tire and the rim. This is a critical part of a tubeless system, as even a small leak from inside the rim impairs pressure retention and the effectiveness of the sealant.
The tape is extremely thin yet durable, meaning it does not alter the tire fit on the rim or interfere with the bead-seat area. At the same time, its surface is slick enough to allow the tire bead to seat more easily during tubeless installation—this is practically one of its biggest advantages compared to thicker tapes.
The 33 mm width is designed for wide rims (typically ~30 mm inner width), and Stan’s itself recommends choosing a tape that is about 1–2 mm wider than the rim's inner width for optimal sealing.
The adhesive surface is designed to last, but also to peel off without leaving residue, which makes maintenance and re-taping easier. One 10-meter roll is typically enough for approximately 4 x 29” wheels, making it a cost-effective option for multiple installations.
Furthermore, the tape also acts as mechanical protection: it prevents cuts caused by spokes and nipples from the inside, which increases the reliability of the tubeless system during long-term use.
