SRAM AXS Power Meter Spider – accurate power measurement for Eagle Transmission cranks

The SRAM AXS Power Meter Spider is a spider-integrated power meter for SRAM Eagle Transmission 8-Bolt cranks. It lets you turn your crankset into a power-measuring setup without replacing the entire crankset. The power meter is designed specifically for mountain biking and SRAM T-Type Transmission drivetrains that use a Thread Mount chainring.

The spider-based design measures power at the center of the cranks and provides total power, power balance and cadence data to a compatible bike computer while you ride. SRAM specifies an accuracy of ±1.5%, and 10K Temperature Compensation offsets the effects of temperature changes on the measurement. This helps keep readings as consistent as possible during long climbs, races and changing weather conditions.

The power meter transmits data wirelessly via ANT+ and Bluetooth Low Energy. It pairs with most bike computers that support power measurement, while the AXS connection lets you monitor the device and update its software through the SRAM AXS system.

MagicZero, AxCad and long battery life

SRAM’s MagicZero feature automatically checks the power meter’s zero offset while you ride, minimizing the need for separate manual calibration. AxCad measures cadence using an accelerometer, so there is no need to install a separate cadence magnet on the cranks or frame.

Power comes from a standard user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery. SRAM specifies a battery life of approximately 200 riding hours. The battery can be replaced without special tools.

The power meter is rated IPX7 and designed to withstand the wet and muddy conditions of mountain biking. SRAM defines IPX7 protection as resistance to water at a depth of up to one meter for 30 minutes.

The spider is also compatible with the RockShox Flight Attendant system. Flight Attendant can use the rider’s power data from the power meter as part of its automatic suspension control.

The power meter spider attaches to the cranks using SRAM’s 8-Bolt interface. The chainring attaches to the spider using SRAM’s Thread Mount system.

Compatible T-Type Thread Mount chainrings are available with 32–38 teeth. Chainring offset can be 0 mm or 3 mm, depending on the crank and drivetrain setup.
