Description

SRAM Hydraulic disc brake Maven SLV Black Anodized

SRAM's most powerful brake to date, with easily controllable power and extreme performance.

More power. The Maven delivers nearly 50% more braking power than the previous flagship Code model. Although power is one of the most important aspects of a brake, it is useless without good control. The Maven requires 33% less lever pull to achieve the same power as the Code, reducing hand fatigue and allowing you to ride harder for longer.

Four exceptionally large pistons, two 19.5mm and two 18mm, deliver significantly more power to the brake pads. The larger pistons were designed together with the brake lever to achieve an excellent leverage ratio. Riders who have previously used SRAM brakes will immediately feel at home with these brakes. The familiar lever feel, lever reach adjustment, contact point adjustment, and overall ergonomics are all the proven quality of the Code.

SwingLink power management varies the power delivered by the brake according to the lever pull. The further you pull the lever, the more power the brake delivers. Progressive power delivery is one of the most important factors in achieving controlled yet powerful braking.

Exceptionally rigid brake caliper. The four solid mounting bolts are not just for show; they prevent the brake from flexing and thus reduce power loss caused by material flex.

The right rotor size? Larger is not always better, at least not when the brake itself is good enough. For the Maven, SRAM recommends trying different rotor sizes, starting with the smallest and moving to a larger one as needed. Why? An oversized rotor may never reach its optimal operating temperature, and the brake will not engage as intended. The Expert Kit makes testing easy, as it includes several rotor sizes with their respective adapters. You can easily identify the right rotor size for your needs by its color change: 1. A brown or bronze color change means the rotor is operating optimally. 2. A purple or rainbow color change means the rotor is overheating and should be replaced with a larger one. 3. No color change means the rotor is not getting hot enough, and a smaller rotor would be better.

The Stealth brake levers feature an optimized lever design that brings the brake hose closer to the handlebar for a sleeker, more modern bike. Visually coordinated with SRAM Eagle Transmission components, Stealth brake levers are designed to complement the clean aesthetics of an AXS-equipped cockpit without adding complexity – ready to integrate with the next generation of cable routing designs.

Modern mountain bikes have redefined what riders are capable of, pushing the requirements for heavy-duty power further than ever before. Maven is SRAMs answer to that evolution, with monstrous 18 and 19.5-millimeter pistons driving 50% more power than Code disc brake. But best-in-class power means nothing unless you’re able to harness it.

SwingLink translates rider input for progressive power throughout the lever pull, maintaining SRAM’s signature ride feel. And because of a stiff 4-bolt caliper that sheds an incredible amount of heat, that feel remains consistent, so the last corner feels like the first corner. But with so much baseline power on hand, there is more range than ever before to tune the ride qualities to exactly how you want with different pad materials, and rotor sizes. SRAM Maven Silver features a bold black anodized finish with stainless hardware. And for unrivaled ease of customization, features tool-free Reach and Contact Point Adjust.

Features of SRAM Maven - Silver:

  • 18 and 19.5-millimeter pistons for superior power
  • SwingLink for signature SRAM lever feel
  • Stiff 4-piston caliper with best heat management and easier bolt access
  • Organic pads come standard for the best modulation and the quietest ride
  • Stealth lever architecture for a sleeker, more modern ride
  • Mineral Oil for low maintenance and performance
  • Designed for use with Maxima Mineral Brake Oil only
  • Contact Point Adjust and tool-free Reach Adjust

Reach Adjust | The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever are a very personal matter. Not only hand sizes and finger lengths vary, each rider also has individual position preferences. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be easily set up – for maximum control with just one finger.

Contact Point Adjustment | Some riders like the immediate power transfer of a short lever travel, while others prefer the feel of a longer lever travel. Contact point adjustment allows you to determine the position at which the brake engages, making it quick and easy to adjust to your needs without having to move the brake pads.

SwingLink™ | SRAM disc brakes are characterized by an optimized actuation of the brake pads, which provides a shorter idle travel at the brake lever. To ensure that this is not at the expense of modulation, SRAM has developed the special SwingLink™ cam shape, which creates a perfect balance between power and precision when the brake pad and brake disc come into contact.

Bleeding Edge™ | In this brake fluid circuit, the bleed hole has been relocated to the underside of the caliper so that all four piston bores can access it. This naturally fills the caliper with fluid during bleeding and allows for correspondingly easier and more consistent maintenance.
