Lightweight and protective trail helmet for technical off-road riding
The Smith Session Mips is a mountain bike helmet designed for trail and all-mountain riding, combining a lightweight construction, more comprehensive protection than standard helmets, and effective ventilation. The strategically positioned Koroyd structure absorbs impact energy, while its open honeycomb design allows air to flow efficiently through the helmet.
The Mips system helps reduce rotational forces transmitted to the head in certain oblique impacts. The VaporFit adjustment system allows for quick fit fine-tuning with a single adjustment dial. The Session is particularly well suited for riders who tackle technical trails and fast descents but want a helmet that stays cool even on climbs.
Koroyd, Mips and effective ventilation for trail and all-mountain riding
The Session's strength lies in its balance of protection and comfort. Koroyd protection is positioned in the helmet's key impact areas, and the integrated support structure increases shell rigidity. Mips completes the package by allowing a small amount of controlled movement between the helmet and the head in certain oblique impacts.
15 ventilation ports and internal air channels move air efficiently through the helmet. Smith's AirEvac system is designed to work particularly well with sunglasses and goggles, helping to reduce lens fogging. Sunglasses can also be stored in the helmet, and the three-position visor can be raised to store goggles.
VaporFit offers 270-degree adjustment around the head, allowing for precise fit fine-tuning without complicated adjustments. In different model years, the Session helmet features an antimicrobial XT2 or Ionic+ interior, which helps manage moisture and odors.
