Smith Forefront 2 MIPS. This next-generation award-winning Smith Forefront 2 helmet protects you from the back (both from the front and sides).
Thanks to MIPS and full Koroyd® protection in the critical areas of the helmet, the rider is given confidence and a sense of safety on the trails. The large ventilation ports in the helmet keep you cool throughout the entire ride. You can also easily store your goggles in the designated place in the helmet during the ride.

Forefront 2

Smith's award-winning Forefront helmet gets a new look in the Forefront 2 model, which is designed specifically for all-mountain riders who need excellent protection, ventilation, and goggle compatibility. The use of Koroyd® material has been extended to the back of the helmet, providing full protection for the entire helmet. Internal air channels combine with open air intake and exhaust ports, maximizing ventilation. AirEvac™ channels prevent goggles from fogging up. The Forefront 2 also features front and rear storage channels for goggles and a three-position visor that flips up so that goggles can be stored.

What makes the Forefront 2 unique?

Koroyd® absorbs more energy during an impact, offers better design flexibility, and ensures more effective ventilation compared to traditional helmet materials. Koroyd® tubes form a crush zone and collapse evenly under the force of an impact. This allows for better energy absorption and a lighter structure than other protective materials on the market. Traditional materials behave like springs, storing and releasing energy, while Koroyd® is a true energy absorber that converts kinetic energy by crushing.

Koroyd® technology reacts quickly during an impact, as the tubes collapse immediately and evenly, absorbing the maximum possible force in a controlled manner, thus reducing the energy transferred to the head area.

The MIPS® brain protection system adds protection in the helmet to prevent rotational movement. It reduces the risk of brain injuries from angled impacts by directing energy and forces away from the brain. MIPS® works with a sliding layer that allows the head to move 10–15 mm relative to the helmet in all directions, reducing rotational movement to the brain.

MIPS® Brain Protection System

MIPS® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is designed to protect the brain from rotational movement, which can lead to brain injuries. The MIPS® system reduces the rotational forces transferred to the brain during an impact.

Tested and realistic conditions – statistics show that many brain injuries are caused by angled impacts. The MIPS® testing system is designed to measure angled impacts and simulate falls, providing more accurate results than traditional vertical testing.
