When the weather is wet and the roots are shiny, front-wheel control is everything. FOX Neo Coil at the rear: more grip in all conditions

The Neo Coil rear shock gives the rear axle more "ground-hugging" feel and grip, especially in wet and slippery conditions. The coil spring helps keep the rear wheel more planted over rocks and roots, which translates into longer pulls uphill, better control under braking, and smoother progress on chunky trails.

Importantly, the NEO setup is not just a soft "comfort package". The goal is to deliver:

Live Valve Neo: speed without compromise

Pivot has been involved in the development of the FOX Live Valve Neo system from the ground up. Live Valve Neo is based on Neo's ultra-fast wireless protocol: it reacts significantly faster than traditional wireless solutions and enables real-time suspension adjustment.

The system continuously reads the terrain and switches between modes as conditions change. It can make greater use of Firm mode, making the bike feel more planted during acceleration, climbs, and flat sections. When the terrain gets chunky, the suspension opens up to maintain grip and control.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

Floating battery technology

Instead of rigidly mounting the battery to the frame, Pivot uses two independent nylon composite mounts that allow the battery to subtly twist with the frame as the carbon frame flexes under load.

This "floating" connection allows the frame to move naturally during impacts and cornering, preserving the flex, durability, and ride feel Pivot is known for.

Adjustable rear triangle lengths using Pivot's patented Swinger® Dropout system.

Leveraging our patented Swinger Dropout, we developed rear triangle length adjustment that is fully compatible with both the UDH standard and SRAM Transmission – in either position.

This allows the rider to choose between a short or long setting, with the rear axle position adjustable by 8 mm.

FAQ – Shuttle LT

How did you come up with the name Slacky McSteepTube?

Our internal naming committee worked for a long time to come up with a name that was descriptive yet memorable. Finally, after much debate, Zack (engineering team lead) claimed the title “SMST” – in honor of the internet’s creative naming style, like Boaty McBoatface.

Are there any restrictions on which seatposts I can use with the Slacky McSteepTube system?

No. The SMST insert works with any 31.6 mm seatpost. Check the dropper post compatibility guide for the minimum and maximum insertion depths.

Why are the differences between the High and Low flip chip positions on the Shuttle LT geometry greater than on other Pivot models?

New flip chip parts were made for the Shuttle LT so that the positions correctly correct the geometry for both 29" and MX (mullet) wheel configurations.

There is an 8 mm difference in rear triangle length between the Swinger positions – does the drivetrain need to be adjusted differently between the positions?

Yes. When you change the Swinger position, the drivetrain must be adjusted accordingly. The chain length also changes: the long position requires a longer chain than the short position.
With the SRAM Transmission build, you need 120 links for the long position and 118 links for the short one. The setup key and cog remain the same (Setup Key: A | Setup Cog: 6/24).

The shape of the headset and spacers is new – is it for internal headset routing?

No. The beefy Fox Podium front fork and 56/56 headset make traditional spacers look flimsy, so we designed new headset parts and spacers to better suit the look and feel of an aggressive enduro bike.

Can I use Bosch’s internal battery to power a SRAM or Shimano rear derailleur on the Shuttle LT?

Yes. The rear derailleur power cable can be routed through the frame’s internal channels in the same way as a cable-actuated rear derailleur’s cable/wire.
