Shimano BP-P04C-MF Metal Disc Brake Pads
The Shimano BP-P04C-MF Metal is a finned metal disc brake pad for Shimano's new generation 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. The pad uses Shimano's narrow P-type pad design and is specially designed for hard off-road riding, enduro, trail riding, bike park use, and electric mountain bikes, where the brakes require high power, good heat resistance, and a long service life.
The metal friction material offers better wear resistance and heat management than resin pads. It performs well in wet, muddy, and demanding conditions, as well as on long descents where the brakes heat up repeatedly. The BP-P04C-MF is a good choice for riders who want to maximize the durability of the brake pads and maintain braking power even under heavy use.
The cooling fins help transfer heat away from the brake pad, which reduces brake fade and improves the pad's service life. The metal pad feels firm and powerful, but it can be noisier than a resin pad, especially in wet conditions. If silence and softer modulation are the most important factors, the resin version BP-P03A-RF may be a better choice. If you are looking for durability, power, and heat resistance, the BP-P04C-MF is the right option.
