Shimano XTR SM-BB93 Hollowtech II 68/73 BSA Bottom Bracket
The Shimano XTR SM-BB93 is a lightweight, high-quality Hollowtech II bottom bracket for Shimano MTB cranksets with a 24 mm spindle. It is designed for 68/73 mm bottom bracket shells with BSA threads and is especially well suited to mountain bikes that need a lightweight, smooth-spinning and reliable bottom bracket solution.
The XTR-level construction offers low weight, effective sealing and low rolling resistance for demanding XC, trail and off-road riding. The external bearing cups efficiently support the Hollowtech II crank spindle, helping keep the drivetrain stiff and spinning smoothly, even under load.
The SM-BB93 is a good replacement for a worn, creaking or loose bottom bracket when the bike has Shimano Hollowtech II-compatible MTB cranks and a BSA-threaded frame. It fits many Shimano XTR, XT, SLX and Deore MTB cranksets, for example, provided the crank spindle is 24 mm and the frame has the correct bottom bracket standard.

Unlike Shimano's road-specific SM-BBR60 bottom bracket, the BB93 is an MTB bottom bracket for 68/73 mm BSA shells, using the spacer configuration required by the MTB crankset according to the shell width and crank model.
The BSA-threaded design makes installation and maintenance straightforward when using the correct Shimano-compatible bottom bracket tool. During installation, check the width of the frame's bottom bracket shell, the crankset instructions and the correct number of any 2.5 mm spacers. Correct spacer installation is important for the chainline, bearing load and crank performance.
