Shimano GRX BL-RX825-L Brake Lever

The hydraulic disc brake lever completes the GRX series' wireless lineup, which was introduced with the RD-RX827 rear derailleur and is tailored for 1x12 shifting. The lever designed exclusively for braking weighs 19.5 grams less than the Dual Control version. In addition, it offers the same ergonomic benefits as the ST-RX825 brake and shift levers, with ribbed surfaces and a non-slip lever. Like its counterpart equipped with shifting functionality, its design is particularly well suited for gravel handlebars with flare.

Shimano GRX BR-RX820-F Disc Brake Caliper

The hydraulic GRX BR-RX820 hydraulic brake caliper represents superior braking power in difficult terrain. Thanks to improved modulation and a faster-engaging pressure point, gravel riders experience a completely new sense of control. In addition, despite its flatter design, the Flatmount disc brake caliper is quieter and easier to maintain than ever before. The 10% increase in the gap between brake pads reduces noise, and the proven One Way Bleeding system makes maintenance easier.

SERVO WAVE | Because the brake lever dampens a large part of the braking stroke right at the beginning of its movement, the brake pads come into contact with the brake rotor faster, and more of the brake lever's movement is left for adjusting the braking force. Thus, SERVOWAVE brake systems are characterized by a faster response, better performance, and shorter freeplay.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | In brake systems with a J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated compression fitting (olive), which makes installing and removing the brake hose much easier overall.

Ice Technologies | To maintain high braking performance during prolonged continuous use, Shimano has developed Ice-Tech cooling technology for brake rotors and brake pads. Brake pads equipped with Ice Technologies technology have aluminum cooling fins that dissipate heat more effectively.

New for the GRX 1 x 12-speed is the BL-RX825-L hydraulic brake lever in combination with the BR-RX820 flat-mount brake calliper for disc brakes. This brake-only lever delivers the same ergonomic excellence of SHIMANO’s RX825 DUAL CONTROL LEVERS, including raised hoods with ribbed surfaces and anti-slip brake levers, but foregoes any electronic shift buttons for a lighter, simpler 1x setup option.

Advanced Di2 Button Functions – Shifting Versatility Whether utilizing the new BL-RX825-L brake lever or sticking with a pair of GRX ST-RX825 DUAL CONTROL LEVERS, Shimano 1x12-speed GRX delivers a variety of shifting possibilities thanks to Di2’s customizable buttons as well as add-on accessory switches.
Carried over from previous generations, the GRX RX825 DUAL CONTROL LEVERS feature three Di2 buttons – two buttons are located on the shift paddles while a third button is found on the inside of the hood. The RX825 levers also allow for accessory shift buttons, which can be placed on the tops, drops, or aero bars for additional shifting options. Each Di2 button mentioned above can be assigned various functions, including shifting the rear derailleur, controlling compatible lights and cycle computers, or it can be used as a remote function button for the rear derailleur. With this last option, riders can make shifting trim adjustments on the fly without taking their hands off the handlebars.
