SCHWALBE ROMY Gravity Pro Radial 29 x 2.50” Soft TLR Folding Tire

The Schwalbe Romy Gravity Pro is a 29-inch mountain bike tire designed for demanding trail, all-mountain, and enduro riding. It combines the versatile and reasonably fast-rolling Romy tread with Schwalbe’s robust Gravity Pro casing, a grippy Soft compound, and a Radial construction that effectively conforms to the terrain.

Romy is designed for riders who want a good balance of rolling efficiency, braking grip, and cornering support. Lower, more closely spaced center knobs help the tire roll quickly, while more pronounced side knobs provide support in corners and on slanted surfaces. Gravity Pro Casing

Gravity Pro is the strongest and most supportive casing in the Romy range. The double-layer 2 x 67 EPI casing provides excellent sidewall support and better protection against punctures and tire damage than standard casings.

The stiff and stable casing is particularly suitable for:

Radial Casing Construction

The Romy Gravity Pro uses Schwalbe’s Radial construction. In a radial tire, the casing threads run across the tire at a shallower angle than in a conventional tire construction. This allows the casing to conform more flexibly and provides a larger contact patch with the terrain.

The Soft compound works well as both a front and rear tire. On the front, it provides good cornering and braking grip. On the rear, it offers plenty of traction, but naturally wears faster than a harder compound.

Tubeless Ready

The Romy Gravity Pro is TLR, or Tubeless Ready, compatible. The tire can be fitted to a compatible tubeless rim without an inner tube, using a tubeless valve and sealant.

The benefits of a tubeless setup include:

• a lower risk of punctures
• the option to use lower tire pressures
• better grip and ride comfort
• automatic sealing of small punctures
• no inner tube to pinch

If necessary, the tire can also be fitted with an inner tube.

E-50 Approval

The tire is E-50 approved, making it suitable for fast electric bikes with assistance up to 50 km/h. The strong Gravity Pro casing makes the tire particularly suitable for the higher weight and greater motor torque of electric mountain bikes.

Gravity Pro or Trail Pro?

Gravity Pro is best suited for hard riding, technical routes, and riders who need the most supportive tire casing possible. It handles impacts and lateral loads better than the Trail Pro version, but it is approximately 200–300 grams heavier per tire.

Trail Pro is the better choice for lighter trail riding and long climbs. Choose Gravity Pro when protection, support, and confidence are more important than weight.

Front or rear tire?

The Romy Gravity Pro is suitable as both a front and rear tire.

As a front tire, it offers:

• good braking grip
• predictable grip on rocks and roots
• a supportive ride feel during hard impacts

As a rear tire, it offers:

• good traction
• strong protection against punctures
• a stable casing during hard cornering

Rim recommendation

A 29 x 2.50” tire is best suited to a mountain bike rim with an internal width of approximately 30–35 mm. On a narrower rim, the tire profile becomes rounder, while a wider rim supports the side knobs and tire casing during hard cornering.

Always also check the tire width compatibility stated by the rim manufacturer.
