Description
The Pivot Phoenix Ride GX is a modern downhill bike for riders who want a race-ready, high-performance DH bike with a well-considered, capable component spec. It is built around the full-carbon Phoenix frame, designed with a focus on maximum stability, precise handling, high impact resistance and controlled speed on rough terrain. This bike is made for aggressive downhill riding, bike park use and technically demanding DH tracks.
The Pivot Phoenix Ride GX is built specifically for the demands of downhill riding. Its full-carbon frame delivers a competition-ready combination of stiffness, precision and low weight, helping the bike maintain a calm, consistent ride feel as speeds increase and the terrain gets rougher. The Phoenix is designed for riders who need predictable handling on steep descents, big impacts, root sections, rock gardens and braking bumps, where staying in control makes all the difference to line choice and speed.
At the heart of the Phoenix frame is the modern DW6 suspension platform, designed to deliver efficient rear suspension performance, excellent traction and controlled progress through challenging terrain. With 210 mm of rear travel, the bike is exceptionally capable of handling big hits and sustained hard riding, making it a genuinely competitive option for DH. The suspension supports both comfort and speed over rough ground, where the bike needs to be sensitive and stable at the same time.
The Phoenix Ride GX features a modern mixed-wheel setup, with a 29-inch wheel up front and a 27.5-inch wheel at the rear. This combination adds front-end stability, improves rollover and delivers predictable steering, while the smaller rear wheel makes the bike more agile, helps with quick direction changes and gives the rider more room to move in an aggressive riding position. The result is a balanced downhill bike that brings together the best of modern DH geometry: front-end confidence and a lively rear end.
Suspension duties are handled by a RockShox Vivid Base rear shock and a RockShox Boxxer Base 29” fork with 52 mm offset, Charger 3 RC damping and 200 mm of travel. This setup is for riders who want a suspension package built for downhill, delivering reliable performance under hard use and plenty of capability for demanding riding. The Boxxer Base brings stability and precision to the front end on technical descents, while the Vivid Base keeps the rear end composed and controlled over rough terrain. The setup is ideal for bike park days, fast DH tracks and aggressive downhill riding.
The drivetrain is a SRAM GX DH 7-speed setup, designed specifically for the demands of downhill riding. A 7-speed drivetrain is a clear, reliable and practical choice for DH, with gearing focused on the range that matters. The SRAM PG720 DH 11–25t cassette, SRAM PC1110 chain and Praxis DH-9 crankset with a Pivot 27T chainring make for a durable setup with a controlled pedalling feel and gearing suited to downhill. This makes the bike a great choice for riders who value a simple, high-performance DH drivetrain.
Braking is handled by SRAM Maven Bronze Stealth brakes, delivering powerful stopping performance and excellent control on demanding descents. Large SRAM HS2 rotors, 220 mm up front and 200 mm at the rear, add braking power, heat management and consistent brake feel on long, hard descents. This brake setup is ideal for riders who go fast, brake late and need confidence in steep corners, fast and varied sections of the track, and under sustained heavy use.
The cockpit is straightforward and purpose-built for downhill riding. The 800 mm Phoenix Team Low Rise Alloy handlebar provides stability, control and plenty of leverage on challenging descents. The 45 mm Phoenix Team DH stem keeps steering direct and responsive, while Phoenix Factory Lock-On grips complete the secure hold under hard riding. This cockpit supports an aggressive riding position and precise bike handling, especially on technical sections where every movement affects line control.
The Phoenix Ride GX is fitted with a Phoenix Race Aluminum seatpost and a Phoenix WTB Ride Hightail Trail saddle. On a downhill bike, the saddle needs to be functional and durable, with a shape that gives the rider enough room to move in an active riding position. This setup works well when moving around on the bike and constantly changing position to suit the track.
The wheels are a DH-specific mixed-wheel setup that complements the bike’s modern downhill character. The tires are Continental Kryptotal DH models, combining a Super Soft compound with DH Casing construction. This delivers excellent grip, strong impact and puncture resistance, and a predictable ride feel in demanding conditions. The front and rear tire profiles support precise steering, braking traction and stability, improving the bike’s reliability on dry, technical, loose or wet terrain.
The Pivot Phoenix Ride GX is an excellent choice for riders who want a modern carbon downhill bike without stepping up to the most expensive builds in the range. It offers the same high-performance Phoenix platform at its core as the pricier versions: a full-carbon frame, 210 mm of rear travel, a modern mixed-wheel setup and components genuinely designed for DH use. The Ride GX prioritizes practical performance, durability and sensible component choices, making it an excellent fit for dedicated bike park riders, racers and anyone looking for a high-performance downhill bike built for hard use.

You don't get faster by cutting corners—it takes time to build speed.
Why do we focus so intently on even the smallest gains in performance?
To an outsider, downhill riding can look like nothing more than speed and reckless riding. In reality, it’s something else entirely. It takes hours of studying the track step by step, working through every corner, drop, rock and root, assessing lines and chasing tenths of a second. True speed doesn’t happen by chance—it comes from precision, repetition and preparation.
This mindset is at the heart of the new Pivot Phoenix. It’s the result of years of development, testing and continuous refinement, all aimed at extracting every possible advantage. As speed increases and the track gets rougher, the bike needs to feel stable, precise and seamlessly connected to its rider. The Phoenix is built for exactly that: to provide control, calm the ride at speed and support the rider when pushing the limits.
We don’t chase every last percentage point of performance for nothing. We know it can make all the difference.

The Pivot Phoenix's mid-high pivot six-bar DW-link suspension is developed to maximize control, stability and sensitivity in demanding downhill riding. Its 210 mm of rear travel helps the bike absorb big hits, braking bumps, roots and rocks effectively, maintaining traction and keeping the line composed even at high speed. The mid-high pivot design brings added confidence on steep, rough descents, where predictable handling and balanced progress are essential.
The dual-chain drive that complements the system is designed to run smoothly and quietly, even under heavy loads. This keeps the drivetrain efficient while minimizing pedal kickback. In practice, that means a smoother ride feel, better control as the rear suspension works, and greater confidence when the track is fast, rough and constantly changing.

Suspension
Designed for the biggest hits, the new Pivot Phoenix comes equipped with powerful, race-ready suspension. On Pro models, the setup comprises a Fox Factory Float X2 rear shock and a Fox Factory 40 GRIPX2 fork, delivering sensitive response, a stable ride feel and reliable control in demanding downhill riding.
Ride models are equipped with a RockShox Vivid rear shock and a RockShox Boxxer fork. This setup delivers excellent impact absorption, reliable performance and controlled handling on hard descents, in the bike park and on technically demanding trails.

Versatile headset configuration
The Pivot Phoenix headset offers extensive options for fine-tuning the riding position. With a +5 mm / -5 mm reach-adjust headset and four frame sizes, riders can adjust reach from 430 to 525 mm in 5 mm increments, making it easier to tailor the bike to their riding style and proportions.
The Phoenix uses an oversized straight head tube compatible with a larger 56 mm inner-diameter headset (ZS56/ZS56). The frame is also compatible with aftermarket reach-adjust headsets, allowing the riding position to be fine-tuned even further to suit the rider’s needs.

Flip-chip adjustment for suspension progression
The Pivot Phoenix's suspension progression adjustment lets riders tailor the leverage curve to their riding style and the demands of the track. This allows the rear suspension to be fine-tuned for a more sensitive, linear feel or a more progressive response, depending on the ride feel you want.
The more progressive setting reflects Bernard Kerr’s personal preference, while the standard setting works exceptionally well for most riders. Both settings are also compatible with air and coil rear shocks, giving you plenty of scope for further customization.
Technically, the more progressive setting offers:
-
46.6% progression across the full travel range (0–100% travel)
-
28.1% progression through the sag range at 30–90% travel
By comparison, the more linear setting offers:
-
39.6% progression across the full travel range (0–100% travel)
-
24.2% progression through the sag range at 30–90% travel

Suspension design
The Pivot Phoenix’s six-bar linkage improves performance over sharp impacts and square-edged obstacles, while giving the rear wheel a more rearward axle path. This helps the bike maintain speed, control and agility, especially on the roughest terrain, where roots, rocks and braking bumps constantly challenge the suspension.
The Phoenix’s anti-squat is designed to keep the drivetrain efficient and make the most of pedalling input, while allowing the suspension to respond sensitively to challenging terrain. This creates a balanced, controlled ride, even as speed increases and the ground gets rougher.
The bike’s anti-rise has also been carefully tuned to keep braking control and suspension performance in balance. The result is a more stable, predictable and confidence-inspiring ride on steep, technical and demanding descents.

Dual-Idler, Dual-Chain Design
The Pivot Phoenix's dual-idler, dual-chain system is designed to reduce drag, increase clearance between the frame and drivetrain, and improve chain retention during hard riding. Its smooth, friction-free operation helps improve bike handling, especially at speed and under the heavy loads of downhill riding.
The system makes it easy to adjust chain tension between the upper and lower chain runs, simplifying maintenance and fine-tuning. The drive-side chainring is also easy to replace, adding practicality for active riding and regular maintenance.
The setup is equivalent to a 35T chainring gear ratio, offering a balanced combination of drivetrain efficiency, control, and practical performance for downhill riding.

Full-Length Downtube Protection
The Pivot Phoenix's downtube is protected by a durable rubber guard that helps prevent frame damage from rocks, edge impacts, and other knocks during riding. This extends the frame's service life and helps keep the bike looking great, even in demanding downhill use.
In addition, the tailgate-pad-compatible protection helps keep the frame in good condition during transport. It reduces scratches and wear marks when loading and unloading the bike over a vehicle's tailgate, making the Phoenix a practical choice for frequent bike park visits and race trips.

Proprietary Ride Tuning
Pivot's Proprietary Ride Tuning design philosophy ensures that the Phoenix delivers a consistent, controlled ride feel across frame sizes. The size range spans S1–S4, and the bike is designed to fit riders approximately 155 cm–201 cm tall, offering a wide range of options for riders of different heights.
Each frame size has undergone a separate strength-to-weight analysis to ensure consistent performance regardless of size. In addition, the stiffness of the carbon-fiber construction has been fine-tuned for each size, helping maintain optimal ride feel, handling, and frame performance for riders of different heights.
As a result, the Phoenix is not simply a frame scaled to different sizes; each size is tuned to deliver the most balanced and purposeful riding experience possible.
