Description
Pivot Mach 4 SL Ride Eagle 70/90 Transmission is a modern full-suspension carbon XC bike for riders who want competitive performance, a lightweight build, and a technically advanced frame without the price tag of top-tier race models. The new Mach 4 SL platform is designed to meet the demands of world cup XC and modern technical race courses, where efficient climbing, precise handling, and maintaining speed are crucial to the outcome. The Ride model offers the same frame, geometry, and suspension solution as the more expensive versions in the range, but combined with the durable and high-performance Eagle Transmission drivetrain and trail-oriented equipment.
Pivot Mach 4 SL Ride – an efficient carbon full-suspension XC bike for modern off-road riding
The Mach 4 SL Ride is built around Pivot's highest modulus carbon frame, designed to maximize the stiffness-to-weight ratio and convert every watt of pedaling into forward motion. The frame's modern geometry and updated kinematics provide a combination where the bike climbs extremely efficiently while maintaining stable and composed handling as speed increases and the terrain becomes technical. This balance is key in modern XC riding, where courses feature roots, rocks, steep climbs, and fast descents.
The DW-link suspension is designed to support efficient pedaling and continuous grip in varied terrain. On the Mach 4 SL, the rear suspension is adjustable to 110 or 120 millimeters with a flip-chip solution, allowing the bike's character to be fine-tuned for racing, terrain, or riding style. 110 mm emphasizes pedaling efficiency and race speed, while 120 mm adds stability and control on technical XC courses and fast trail riding. At the front, the Fox Performance 34SL 120 mm fork provides precision, support, and controlled suspension at the front end, helping to keep steering composed at high speeds.
The Mach 4 SL Ride uses the SRAM Eagle 70/90 Transmission drivetrain, which combines a modern Transmission design with durable mechanical shifting. The 12-speed 10–52-range offers light enough gears for steep XC climbs and long gears for fast riding on flat terrain and descents. The Transmission design's direct mounting to the frame improves shifting precision, load resistance, and system durability under heavy use. This makes the Ride model an extremely capable option for active XC riding and long rides where reliable operation is more important than absolute weight savings.
For braking, the Mach 4 SL Ride uses SRAM DB8 Stealth four-piston brakes, which provide an exceptionally strong and controlled braking feel for an XC bike. The 180 mm front rotor and 160 mm rear rotor offer a balanced combination of power and modulation, which increases confidence in steep descents, technical corners, and varied grip conditions. This brake setup supports the bike's modern XC character, where speed is higher and the terrain more demanding than in traditional race XC.
In the cockpit, the Mach 4 SL Ride combines a Phoenix Race Low Rise aluminum handlebar with a 780 mm width and a Phoenix Race XC/Trail stem with a 60 mm length. The wider bar adds control and stability in technical terrain while maintaining the efficient riding position typical of an XC bike. Phoenix Factory Lock-On grips complete the secure grip. On the saddle side, the JD/Pivot dropper post adds more versatility and control on descents, while the Phoenix WTB Race Volt saddle offers lightweight and functional XC ergonomics.
For wheels, the Mach 4 SL Ride uses a DT Swiss X1900 29” set with 15×110 and 12×148 axle standards, which offer a good combination of durability, stiffness, and reasonable weight for active XC use. The Maxxis Ardent Race 29×2.2” EXO-construction tire setup provides fast rolling, sufficient grip, and good puncture protection in varied terrain. This combination makes the Ride model an excellent choice for riders who want an efficient XC bike for racing, fast trail riding, and long rides alike.
The Mach 4 SL Ride Eagle 70/90 Transmission offers the same top-tier frame, geometry, and suspension platform as the more expensive models in the range, but combined with a durable, functional, and sensible component package. It is a modern full-suspension carbon XC bike for riders who want a fast, lightweight, and technically advanced bike for real off-road riding – where XC is ridden today.

GEOMETRY

Faster where it matters
The Mach 4 SL is an XC bike in its purest form – designed for maximum efficiency, honed for precision, and built to master modern race courses. It was born from the demands of world cup XC and long-distance endurance racing, combining an extremely lightweight build with uncompromising stiffness, control, and efficiency.
This is Pivot's sharpest tool for riders who live on the edge – designed to crush climbs and meet the demands of the real trails where races are truly won.

The Mach 4 SL Legacy
The Mach 4 SL continues the legacy of Pivot's first bike, the Mach 4 Alloy, introduced in 2007.
The original model laid the foundation for Pivot's focus on efficiency, suspension performance, and competitive rideability. Since its debut in 2019, the Mach 4 SL has defined the modern XC bike: lightweight, high-performance, and uncompromisingly fast. Each generation has refined this vision to meet the demands of today's courses, staying true to the speed and precision that started it all.

Pivot's proprietary Ride Tuning design philosophy
At Pivot, each frame size is designed separately with a precise stiffness-to-weight analysis and custom carbon layups.
This process ensures that the smallest frame size offers the same balance and performance as the XL – without compromise. By individually tuning stiffness and compliance for each size, every rider gets the same confident handling, efficiency, and responsiveness regardless of size. This approach is what makes the Mach 4 SL feel so refined to ride.
The Mach 4 SL also has the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio in the Pivot range, because every gram and every watt transferred forward matters.

Why dw-link?
dw-link is more than a suspension solution – it is the foundation of every Pivot bike.
By combining precise anti-squat geometry with exceptional sensitivity, it produces a ride feel that pedals efficiently while remaining stable and predictable. On the Mach 4 SL, this balance means that every watt of pedaling is converted directly into forward motion, and grip is maintained over roots, rocks, and technical climbs. The result is efficient climbing, composed cornering, and suspension performance that supports the rider in all aspects of the trail.
