Park Tool BBT-18 Bottom Bracket Tool
The Park Tool BBT-18 is a heavy-duty 8-notch bottom bracket and lockring tool for Shimano Octalink and ISIS Drive bottom brackets, as well as e-bike chainring lockrings. It is compatible with, among others, Bosch Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 systems as well as Specialized Levo / Brose e-bikes. Designed for professional use, its steel construction withstands high removal and tightening torques.
8-notch tool for bottom brackets and e-bikes
The BBT-18 8-notch tool profile has a nominal diameter of 43.4 mm. The tool is used for selected cartridge bottom brackets, such as Shimano Octalink and ISIS Drive models, as well as e-bike chainring lockrings featuring the same 8-notch interface.
For e-bike maintenance, the BBT-18 is suitable for the chainring lockrings on Bosch Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 motor systems, as well as the Brose system lockrings used on Specialized Levo bikes. This makes the tool useful in any workshop servicing e-bikes.
The 36 mm wrench flats on the outside of the tool allow for use with a standard 36 mm open-end wrench. For torque tightening, the tool can be used with a suitable 36 mm crowfoot and a torque wrench.

According to Park Tool's official specifications, the center hole of the tool is 22.5 mm, meaning the BBT-18 will not fit over a 30 mm crank spindle. For such applications, Park Tool recommends using other compatible tools, such as the BBT-118 model.
