The NoTubes Flow MK4 29" is a modern aluminum rim designed for trail and enduro use, combining a 30 mm internal width, a low profile, and an asymmetrical design. The Flow MK4 continues the legacy of the legendary Flow series, offering a stronger, more balanced, and more reliable wheel build for modern aggressive mountain biking.
Flow MK4 – control and durability with an asymmetrical design
Flow rims have played a central role in the evolution of mountain biking since 2007. At the time, the original Flow was light, wide, tubeless-compatible, and exceptionally durable. The Flow MK4 takes this evolution to the next level by utilizing the BST-Asymmetric design and a reinforced spoke bed.
The 30 mm internal width is specifically optimized for 2.3–2.6” mountain bike tires. The width provides excellent support for the tire profile, improves lateral stability, and increases grip in corners and while braking. The low profile allows the tire and rim to work together more flexibly, which translates to better ride comfort and control over rocks and roots.
The Flow MK4's asymmetrical drilling equalizes spoke tension on both sides of the wheel. The result is a significantly stronger and longer-lasting wheel that can withstand the heavy loads of enduro riding and bike park use. Unlike many asymmetrical rims, the Flow MK4’s design maintains the same impact and dent resistance on both sides of the rim.
Stan’s patented Bead Socket Technology (BST) makes tubeless setup exceptionally easy and secure. The tire sets properly on the rim, seals easily, and holds air pressure reliably even during hard riding. This allows for lower tire pressures, better grip, and lower rolling resistance without worry.
The Flow MK4 is made of durable 6069 aluminum alloy and features a welded seam. The rim is designed to withstand aggressive trail and enduro riding and has been the choice of many Red Bull Rampage riders precisely for its ride feel and reliability.
