The DART system differs from traditional tubeless repair tools due to its operating principle. The repair plugs it uses do not just push into the hole mechanically, but react chemically with Stan’s tubeless sealant to form an instantly airtight and permanent bond. This also allows for sealing larger cuts without additional work, as there is no need to trim any excess material – it wears down naturally during use.

The plastic, barbed tip of the plug is anchored firmly into the tire safely, without the risk of damaging the rim, tubeless tape, or the user. The laser-cut, flexible patch material adapts to the shape of the damage and maximizes the sealing surface, which prevents the plug from coming loose even during aggressive riding. The DART cannot be felt while riding, even in road tires, and it cannot pull out like traditional tire plugs.

The tool itself has been carefully designed down to the last detail. The ultra-light but durable body is made of high-strength plastic, and the shaft used to insert the plug is made of corrosion-resistant carbon fiber. The length of the shaft is dimensioned so that the plug is always set to the correct depth by pressing the tool against the tire surface. A valve core removal tool is integrated into the handle, which makes it easier to add sealant mid-ride. The double-sided, reversible head allows for the storage of two DART plugs inside the tool, ready for immediate use.
