The Rekon is designed for trail and technical XC routes for riders who want to combine good rolling performance with reliable grip in varied conditions. The model was inspired by the Maxxis Ikon tire but offers a clearly more aggressive tread pattern: the wide, flat center knobs provide control under braking and good rolling performance on hard surfaces, while the L-shaped side knobs bite into the terrain and provide strong cornering grip in loose corners.

The Dual Compound rubber compound is highly wear-resistant and performs reliably even in cold conditions, making the Rekon a durable choice for a rear tire, especially for long trail rides and technical transitions. Although a 3C MaxxTerra version is available, Dual Compound offers better wear resistance and is the optimal compromise between rolling performance and grip for many users.

EXO sidewall protection improves the tire's resistance to cuts and punctures. Thanks to the EXO construction, the tire remains light and supple while providing enough support at lower pressures—resulting in better grip and ride comfort without a significant risk of the tire rolling off the rim. The 60 TPI construction makes the Rekon durable while allowing it to adapt easily to the terrain.

The Wide Trail (WT) sizing optimizes the tire's shape for modern 30–35 mm internal-width rims. The Tubeless Ready construction allows for easy sealing and riding at lower pressures, which increases grip over roots and rocks. The Rekon performs excellently as a rear tire on trail bikes and is a reliable choice for many riders in dry, hard-packed, and medium-difficulty terrain.
