Maxxis Dissector G2 29x2.4 WT
The Maxxis Dissector G2 29x2.40 WT is a modern trail and enduro tire designed to offer fast rolling combined with precise control and powerful braking traction. The 3C MaxxTerra compound, EXO+ protection and tubeless-ready construction make it a versatile choice for aggressive off-road riding in dry, hard-packed conditions.
Next-generation tread design – balancing speed and control
The Dissector G2 is an updated version of the original Dissector, with a tread pattern designed specifically for fast trail and enduro riding. The center tread uses Maxxis’ 2-3-2 layout, with the center knobs divided into separate units. This improves braking traction and helps the tire adapt to uneven terrain without compromising rolling speed.
The side knobs have been made wider, with a larger contact area for added stability when leaning and more predictable cornering. At the same time, the transition knobs have been moved outward, making the tire’s behavior when leaned over smoother and easier to control.
The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers a good balance of grip, durability and rolling speed. It is designed specifically for trail and enduro riding, where both speed and reliable traction in changing conditions are essential.
The EXO+ construction increases the durability of the tire’s sidewalls and protects against punctures and impacts to the rim. It combines EXO sidewall protection with an additional reinforcement in the bead area, making it significantly more durable than standard EXO construction, while still lighter than DoubleDown.
The WT (Wide Trail) profile is optimized for wide rims with an internal width of around 30–35 mm. This improves the tire’s shape, contact patch and ride feel on wider rims.
The Dissector works especially well:
- as a front tire on 130–140 mm trail bikes
- as a rear tire on longer-travel bikes (150 mm+) for fast riding
