Description
The Maxxis Assegai 29x2.60" is an aggressive off-road tire designed for trail, enduro, and bike park riding, offering exceptional grip, a stable ride feel, and reliable control in demanding conditions. The Assegai is particularly renowned as a front tire, where maximum cornering grip, braking feel, and confidence are paramount. Its 29-inch size and 2.60” width make it an excellent choice for modern mountain bikes when maximum grip, damping, and stability are required for technical riding.
The Assegai’s tread pattern is designed to perform across a wide range of conditions, including roots, rocks, loose surfaces, hardpack trails, and wet terrain. Tall, well-supported knobs provide ample mechanical grip, while the aggressive side tread helps keep the tire controlled through hard corners and steep descents. This makes the Assegai an excellent choice for riders who want maximum confidence in their front-wheel grip during fast off-road riding.
The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers an excellent combination of grip, damping, and durability. The EXO+ construction adds sidewall protection and improves durability in demanding trail and enduro riding, while Tubeless Ready compatibility allows for tubeless setup at lower pressures for better grip, comfort, and puncture protection. A 120 tpi casing completes the package, providing a more sensitive ride feel and excellent terrain compliance.
