The Maxxis Aspen is designed for pure speed and racing. Its low, tightly packed center tread delivers exceptionally low rolling resistance, making the tire especially fast on hard, dry surfaces. The greater air volume of the 2.4” WT width adds comfort and reduces vibration over long rides—particularly important in marathon and XC races. The tire’s open tread pattern and generous spacing between knobs help shed mud in wetter conditions, maintaining rolling efficiency and grip throughout the race.

The Dual Compound rubber offers a combination of firmness to maintain rolling efficiency and softness for grip when cornering. It wears better than softer 3C compounds, making it an excellent rear tire for long XC and marathon rides. The well-supported side-knob profile delivers surprisingly strong cornering grip, improving confidence in technical turns too.

EXO protection increases resistance to cuts and abrasions on the tire’s sidewalls without compromising its low weight or flexibility. This matters in technical XC riding, where roots and rocks can put localized stress on a lightweight tire. Thanks to its EXO construction, the Aspen can be run at lower pressures, improving grip and comfort.

The Tubeless Ready construction allows the tire to be sealed with ease and improves its ability to perform at low pressures without pinch-flat damage. Wide Trail XC sizing optimizes the tire casing and knob angles for 25–30 mm internal rim widths, enhancing its shape and ride feel on modern XC bikes.
