The Shimano J05A-RF is a high-quality resin brake pad for Shimano 2-piston disc brakes that use the narrow J-type pad shape. The pad is compatible with numerous XTR, XT, SLX, Deore, Alfine, and road disc brakes that use Shimano's narrow J/G-type brake pads. The resin friction material offers quiet braking performance, good modulation, and consistent operation in dry and varying conditions.
The J05A-RF is equipped with cooling fins that help dissipate heat from the brake pad during heavy braking. This reduces brake fade on long descents and improves pad lifespan compared to basic pads without cooling fins. The aluminum backing plate keeps the structure lightweight and supports effective heat management.
The Shimano J05A-RF is a great choice for mountain biking, gravel riding, cyclocross, commuting, and road disc brakes when looking for a quieter and easily controllable braking feel. Shimano J05A-RF - technical specifications and compatibility
The Shimano J05A-RF uses Shimano's 5th generation resin friction material, which has been developed to be more durable than the previous J02A and J03A pads. The resin pad is quieter than a metal pad and offers a softer, more easily modulated braking feel. The cooling fins make it a good option for longer descents and more active trail riding as well.
This brake pad is intended for Shimano 2-piston calipers that use the narrow J-type pad shape. It is not the correct pad for Shimano 4-piston M8120, M9120, M820, M822, Saint, Zee, or similar brakes that use a different pad shape.
