Alpina – Features and technology

Features:

  • Lightweight and excellently ventilated helmet, ideal for dirt roads and gravel riding

  • Zinc pyrithione in the helmet pad material reduces bacterial growth and prevents odors during perspiration

  • Includes a separate cycling cap for protection against sun and spray

  • The helmet can also be used with a rain cover

  • Compatible with Plug-In-Light IV helmet lights (not included)

Technology:

  • Hi-EPS
    Inner shell made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene) material, which features microscopic air pockets that effectively absorb impact. This allows for thin walls and slim helmet shapes while maintaining optimal protection.

  • In-Mold Tec
    The polycarbonate shell is bonded to the EPS granulate under high heat and pressure. The result is an extremely lightweight yet stable structure where the upper and lower shells are inseparably joined.

  • Edge Protect
    A processing technique that eliminates sharp edges. Reduces the risk of injury: hands are protected when handling the helmet, and the neck and shoulder area are protected from impact.

  • Ceramic Shell
    A durable and scratch-resistant polycarbonate shell. The material is impact-resistant, UV-resistant, and antistatic.

  • Run System Ergo+
    A helmet adjustment system with pressure-equalizing "neck supports" and an easy-to-use adjustment dial at the back.

  • Custom-Fit System
    Allows for a precise and non-slip fit based on head size. The back-of-the-neck strap adjusts to multiple positions.

  • Ergomatic
    A multi-stage automatic buckle that can be operated with one hand. Easy to tighten and loosen while riding.

  • Y-Clip
    Adjustable strap attachment at the ears. Ensures the helmet stays in the optimal position during an impact.

  • Airflow Vents
    Strategically placed ventilation openings ensure optimal air circulation inside the helmet.

  • Shield Protect
    A removable visor protects the face from sun and dirt.

  • Fly Net
    A mesh cover on the front ventilation openings prevents insects from getting to the head.

  • Antibacterial Interior
    The inner padding prevents the formation of bacteria and odors; the pads are gentle on the skin and machine washable at 40 °C.
