FixPlus Gear Tightener 2.0 – mounting point for FixPlus straps on frames or forks
The FixPlus Gear Tightener 2.0 is a lightweight mount that allows your bike's M5 threaded mounting points to be used to secure gear with FixPlus straps. The mount is installed, for example, on the frame, front fork, or bottle cage mounts, after which a FixPlus Strap can be threaded through it to strap on lightweight gear.
The Gear Tightener 2.0 is suitable for bikepacking, gravel, touring, commuting, and adventure riding when you want to add extra mounting points to your bike for a dry bag, extra bottle, rain gear, sleeping mat, or other lightweight equipment. It is particularly useful on front forks and frames that have pre-existing M5 mounting threads.
The pack includes three Gear Tightener 2.0 mounts. The mounts are compatible with FixPlus straps in lengths of 35 cm, 46 cm, 66 cm, and 86 cm. The maximum load is 1.5 kg, so the product is intended for attaching light gear, not for heavy side loads or as a replacement for a cargo rack.
A small but useful accessory mount for bikepacking gear
The FixPlus Gear Tightener 2.0 makes your bike's existing mounting points more versatile. Many gravel, adventure, and bikepacking bikes feature threaded holes on the fork, downtube, or frame triangle, but without a suitable mount, a strap may not stay in the correct position. The Gear Tightener acts as a strap guide and anchor point, allowing gear to be strapped to the frame or fork more neatly and securely.
This solution is useful when you want to carry lightweight extra gear without a large cargo rack or a separate bag system. For example, a small dry bag, rain jacket, pack containing spare clothes, or an extra water bottle can be attached to the frame or fork, provided the load remains within the manufacturer's specified limit and the gear is tied down carefully.
The Gear Tightener 2.0 is a simple accessory, but using it requires sensible load placement. The gear must not touch the tire, spokes, cranks, chain, or the steering range of motion. Especially on the front fork, ensure that the load remains securely in place even when vibrating, braking, or riding on uneven terrain.
