Description

Continental Argotal DH 29" TLR – aggressive off-road tire for soft and loose surfaces

The Continental Argotal DH 29" TLR is an aggressive off-road tire designed for downhill and gravity riding, performing particularly well on soft, loose, wet, and muddy surfaces. The Argotal is Continental's dedicated tire for loose terrain, with an open tread pattern designed to provide strong mechanical grip, good self-cleaning properties, and predictable handling when the trail gets challenging. The 29 x 2.40 DH version is a common option in this model and is a Tubeless Ready folding tire.

Continental Argotal DH 29" TLR – technical DH tire for maximum grip and control

The Argotal's tread pattern is designed to bite effectively into soft ground and loose surfaces. Angled center knobs support grip during braking, while linearly arranged, inward-pointing side knobs increase stability in corners. The open tread also helps mud and loose rocks clear from the tire, improving ride confidence in wet and broken conditions. This makes the Argotal DH an excellent choice for both front and rear tires when maximum grip is the goal and weight is not the top priority.

DH Casing is Continental's toughest casing, designed for gravity riding. The 29 x 2.40 version features a 6/660 TPI construction and Apex reinforcement, which provides maximum lateral support, puncture protection, and impact resistance. The TLR construction allows for tubeless installation, helping to increase grip at lower pressures and reduce the risk of punctures when used with sealant. Many 29 x 2.40 DH versions list a maximum pressure of 3.5 bar / 51 psi and a weight of approximately 1290 g.

The Argotal DH 29" TLR is designed for riders who ride at bike parks, on downhill tracks, or on highly demanding enduro trails and want grip, stability, and reliability above all else. The SuperSoft version emphasizes maximum grip and control from Continental's gravity compounds, while some models are also available in Soft options for different riding needs. Continental describes Soft as suitable for trail and enduro riding, while the 29 x 2.40 version is generally listed with the SuperSoft compound in the retailer information for DH models.
