The Cane Creek Hellbender Bearing Kit 36x45 41 mm / 52 mm is a high-quality stainless steel headset bearing kit for bikes that use a 41 mm upper bearing and a 52 mm lower bearing. The kit is suitable for replacing worn, grinding, or loose headset bearings when the dimensions and chamfer angles of the old bearings match.
The bearings in the Hellbender series are specifically designed for demanding conditions where the headset is exposed to moisture, dirt, wash water, and the stresses of off-road riding. Stainless steel improves corrosion resistance compared to standard steel bearings, and the sealed cartridge design helps keep dirt and moisture out of the bearing.
This 41 mm / 52 mm kit is a typical solution for tapered headset configurations, where a smaller 1 1/8” headset bearing is used at the top and a larger 1.5” headset bearing at the bottom.
